Skier

Skiing

There are two local ski fields in walking distance from the house, one is a brilliant ski area for beginners and has ski schools for both adults and children. There is also another slope more suited for intermediate skiers along with ski lift. You can go further afield to some of the best ski fields in Italy and Switzerland.

There are many markets, theatres and festivals in the town of Lanzo and the surrounding area. Lanzo has long been a summer and winter destination for Milanese families.

Restaurants

Plenty of options – from charming family restaurants like Café Cristal Domino and Monica’s Wine Bar in the village, both real favourites of ours and only a minute's walk from the house, to the nearby Michelin Star, La Locanda del Notaio.

Further afield to the shores of the lake at Bellagio and Menaggio, Varenna and 20 minutes from the house Villa D’Este or 10 minutes away in Argegno, one of our real favourites is Piazzetta.  Another is Crotto dei Platani and we enjoyed an authentic Italian meal experience at Zocca.

Three minutes drive from the house, just before the border, is Crotto Dogana.  Be sure to try the Vienna schnitzel if you are hungry!
